Mini Throwing Course 2025

Have you always wanted to try out throwing and experience all the steps of the process? This mini course will give you a brief introduction of what throwing entails. The process of throwing always consists of 3 steps: first is throwing (where you create a pot out of a ball of clay), the second is trimming (where you refine the shape and create the foot ring), and lastly the glazing to finish off your pots, decorate, give them color, and make them waterproof / food safe.

During this 3 part mini course (total 7,5hrs), you will experience each step of the process. With a maximum of 5 participants, there is much room for personal attention. This course is meant to get a very basic introduction, for example for someone who wants to experience the whole process once or someone who wants to maybe practice at home. However if you are interested to eventually join open studio, please check the full throwing course, which is a requirement for joining open studio.

Price: 3 part mini course (7,5 hours) for €155 p.p. This is including all materials, firing (maximum 4 pieces; additional pieces can be fired for an extra fee), coffee/tea. Participants are welcome from 12 years old. 

Availability: The dates for the mini course are as follows:

30 April 10:00-12:30: Throwing (Step 1)

7 May 10:00-12:30: Trimming (Step 2)

4 June 10:00-12:30: Glazing (Step 3)

Please Note: Throwing requires quite some strength and can be heavy on the body, especially in the way you sit at the throwing wheel. If you have any issues with your hands/arms/back, please contact me.
